1. Business System Access Guide

Getting Started​

SHIELDGate isIsolated BrowserIt is a security solution that allows safe access to work systems and the internet.

There are two ways to connect.​

  1. App Click→ Select the registered app to access
  2. Enter URL→ Access by entering the address directly

Accessing via the app​

Choose an app​

  1. After logging in to SHIELDGate, the app list appears.
  2. desired appClickYou will be connected immediately.
  3. The SHIELDGate menu appears at the top.

Check App Information​

You can check the following information in each app:

Direct Access via URL​

How to Enter a URL​

  1. Enter the address in the top URL input field.

💡 When the policy selection screen appears​

When the entered URL corresponds to multiple policies,Which policy to accessYou can choose.

Selection Options:

  • App Policy: Applying security policies for registered apps
  • Direct Access to URL: Apply URL-specific security policies

Differences by Policy:

  • File Upload/Download Permissions
  • Range of possible movement to other sites
  • Clipboard Usage Permission
  • Repository Usage Scope

💡 Tip: Hover over the information icon (ⓘ) to view the detailed information for each policy.

Security Authentication​

Connection Environment Verification​

If the administrator has set a security policy, the following conditions must be met to access:

  • Allowed IP addressesAccess from
  • Allowed Time ZonesAccess
  • Allowed CountriesAccess from
  • Registered Devicesaccess

Reference: The above conditions apply only if set by the administrator.

**What if the connection is blocked?**Contact the administrator for access environment settings.

Additional Authentication (MFA)​

Additional authentication may be required when accessing a specific site or logging in.

Three authentication methods:

OTP authentication detailed procedure:

  1. Initial Setup: Scan the QR code with the authentication app to register
  2. Storage of Recovery Key: Store the recovery key provided with the QR code in a safe place
  3. Daily Use: Check the 6-digit code in the authentication app and enter it.

💡 Tip: The authentication app can use Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc.

⚠️ When authentication failsAccess is blocked with the message "Authentication failed."

Usage Rights and Restrictions​

Depending on the policies set by the administrator, the use of the following features may be restricted.

Keyboard Input​

  • Allowed: Normal typing possible
  • Block: "Input is prohibited by policy" message display
  • Allowed: Move freely to all sites
  • Block: Only accessible to the specified site
    • When accessing a blocked site → "This action is prohibited by policy" page displayed

File Management​

File Upload

  • Only allowed file formats can be uploaded.
  • Select Save Location:
    • My PC file folder: Using Local PC Files
    • SHIELDGate File Box: Cloud Storage Usage

File Download

  • Only allowed file formats can be downloaded.
  • Select Save Location:
    • My PC: Save directly to PC
    • SHIELDGate File Box: Save to Cloud
    • SHIELDViewer: Preview with a secure viewer and optional download

⚠️ When using SHIELDrive storage: It must be allocated to the corresponding storage to be available.

Clipboard (Copy/Paste)​

Copy in the isolation browserAction

⚠️ If the paste is "internally allowed": Content copied from the PC is not pasted,Last copied content in the isolation browserThis will be entered. Please check the entered value before use.

Cutting

When pasting is blocked, cutting cannot be used either. This is because there is nowhere to paste the cut content, resulting in only the original being deleted.

Cases When a Confirmation Dialog Appears

If the administrator has enabled warnings, a confirmation dialog will appear when attempting to copy and paste.

  • 계속 진행When you click, it will perform as follows.
  • 취소Pressing it does not perform any action.
  • Both cases will be recorded.

Internal AllowanceCopying and pasting is only performed within the isolation browser. It does not exchange with the PC.

Number of screens that can be opened simultaneously​

The administrator can limit the number of screens that can be opened at once.

When you open a new screen while reaching the limit, a "Maximum Concurrent Screen Count Reached" window will be displayed. The window shows the title and address of the screens currently open, and the screen you were viewing is at the top.현재 화면is displayed.

  • Unsaved work on a closed screen may be lost. Please confirm if you are on a working screen before making a selection.
  • If "The remote session of the previous screen has not yet ended. Please try again later." is displayed, please try again after a moment.

Additional Security Features​

Screen Lock​

If you do not work for a certain period of time, the session will automatically expire.

Screen marking (watermark)​

A watermark containing user information will be displayed on the screen.

**Purpose:**User tracking possible during screen capture

Video Conference​

In the isolated browser, video conferencing (camera, microphone, screen sharing) can be used by default without separate settings.

App Security Level Display​

When using security classification labels (grades), the security grade assigned to each app is displayed in the app list.

  • A rating color dot is displayed in front of the app name, and you can check the security rating by hovering over the app card.
  • Apps without a rating do not have a rating display.

Top Toolbar Features​

View and Copy URL​

When you access the business system, you can check and copy the URL of the currently connected site from the top toolbar.

Displayed Information:

  • Current Access URL: The address of the webpage you are currently viewing
  • Copy Button: Copy URL to clipboard

Usage:

  1. Check the current URL in the top toolbar
  2. Copy the URL to the clipboard by clicking the copy button.
  3. You can paste the copied URL elsewhere.

💡 Reference: The URL display feature may not be visible depending on the administrator settings.

Hide/Show Top Bar​

This is a feature that allows you to hide or expand the top toolbar to improve work concentration.

Usage:

  1. Hide Top Bar
  • on the right side of the top toolbarHide IconClick
  • The top bar slides up and is hidden.
  • Web content is displayed expanded to full screen.
  1. Expand top bar
  • in a hidden stateMouse hover over the top area of the screen
  • The top bar appears temporarily
  • Expand IconClicking will fix the top bar.
  • Hidden again when the mouse is removed (if not clicked)

Custom Button​

If set by the administrator, in the top toolbarCustom ButtonThis may be displayed.

Usage:

  1. Click the corresponding button on the top toolbar.
  2. Open linked page in a new window or tab
  3. Perform necessary tasks

Browser Context Menu​

After accessing the business system (app / URL), at the top of the pageRight-click mouseIf you do this, a context menu will be displayed. It provides functionality similar to the right-click menu of a typical browser, andThe visibility of each menu item depends on the context menu control policy set by the administrator.

💡 Display Control According to Administrator Policy: Some of the menu items may be hidden from the context menu due to security policies. If there are items that are not visible, it means that the administrator has disabled those features.

Using the translation feature​

**User selects the target language for translation.**You can do it. Previously, it was fixed to the browser's language setting, but it has been improved to allow you to freely select your desired language from the right-click menu.

Usage:

  1. In the background area of the business system pageRight-click mouse
  2. in the context menuTranslationHover over the item → Expand the submenu on the right
  3. Select desired language → Execute translation of the current page in the selected language

Supported Languages (5)

  • Korean
  • English
  • Japanese
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Chinese (Traditional)

A check mark (✓) appears next to the selected language in the current session. The initial default is automatically set to the browser's language settings.

Language Selection Retention Scope

  • The selected translation target language isKeep only in the current tabIt works.
  • When you open a new tab or move to another tabThe browser's language settings will be reset to default. (Same as the translation behavior of a regular browser)
  • In other words, you can individually select the translation language for each tab, and the selection in one tab does not affect the other tabs.

⚠️ If the translation menu is not visible: The administrator in the context menu control policy번역is blocked. Both the translation menu itself and the submenus are hidden.

Problem Solving​

Connection Issues​

When Unable to Connect

  1. Check IP address, time, device settings
  2. Inquiry about access environment to the administrator

MFA authentication failed

  1. Check the time limit for the authentication code (Email: 5 minutes)
  2. Network Connection Status Check
  3. Contact administrator in case of persistent issues

Function Usage Issues​

When the top bar disappears and cannot be found

  1. Hover your mouse over the top of the screen.
  2. Click the expand icon when the top bar appears temporarily.
  3. The top bar is fixed and remains visible.

When the URL is not visible

  1. Check if the top bar is hidden (hover the mouse over the top of the screen)
  2. The administrator may have disabled the URL view feature.
  3. Request feature activation from the administrator if necessary

When file upload/download fails

  1. Check if the file extension is an allowed format
  2. Check storage allocation status
  3. Network Connection Status Check

When the "Maximum number of concurrent screens reached" window appears without opening a new screen

  1. You have reached the maximum number of screens that can be opened simultaneously.
  2. Check the screens that are no longer in use and선택한 화면 닫고 새 화면 열기When you click, the screen you were trying to open will open.
  3. If you need to increase the number of screens that can be opened, please request it from the administrator.

When the clipboard cannot be used

  1. The administrator may have restricted copying or pasting.
  2. Request permissions from the administrator if necessary

When something other than the copied content from the PC is pasted

  1. Pasting is set to "Internal Allowed". The last copied content from the isolation browser will be entered.
  2. If you need to paste PC content, request permission from the administrator.

When a confirmation window appears every time you copy and paste

  1. The administrator has turned on the warning in that direction.
  2. 계속 진행When you click, the action is performed, and the selection result is recorded.
  3. If you need to use it without a confirmation dialog, please contact the administrator.

When Cut Cannot Be Performed

  1. Cutting cannot be used when pasting is blocked.
  2. Delete the original directly after copying, or request paste permissions from the administrator.

When some items in the right-click menu are not visible

  1. The administrator may have disabled the item in the context menu control policy.
  2. Translation, view page source, and open developer tools may be blocked by security policies.
  3. Request the administrator to enable the feature if necessary.
