Getting Started
SHIELDGate isIsolated BrowserIt is a security solution that allows safe access to the work system and the internet.
There are two ways to connect.
- App Click→ Select the registered app to access
- Enter URL→ Access by entering the address directly
Accessing via the app
Choosing an App
- After logging into SHIELDGate, the app list appears.
- desired appClickYou will be connected immediately.
- The SHIELDGate menu appears at the top.
Check App Information
You can check the following information in each app:

How to Enter a URL
- Enter the address in the top URL input field.

💡 When the policy selection screen appears
When the entered URL corresponds to multiple policies,Which policy to accessYou can choose.
Selection Options:
- App Policy: Applying security policies for registered apps
- Direct Access to URL: Apply URL-specific security policies
Differences by Policy:
- File Upload/Download Permissions
- Range of possible movement to other sites
- Clipboard Permissions
- Repository Usage Scope
💡 Tip: Hover over the information icon (ⓘ) to check the details of each policy.
Security Authentication
Connection Environment Verification
If the administrator has set security policies, the following conditions must be met for access to be granted:
- Allowed IP addressesaccess from
- Allowed Time ZonesAccess
- Allowed Countriesaccess from
- Registered Devicesto connect
Reference: The above conditions apply only if set by the administrator.
**What if the connection is blocked?**Contact the administrator for access environment settings.
Additional Authentication (MFA)
Additional authentication may be required when accessing a specific site or logging in.
Three authentication methods:

OTP authentication detailed procedure:
- Initial Setup: Scan the QR code with the authentication app to register
- Recovery Key Storage: Store the recovery key provided with the QR code in a safe place
- Daily Use: Check the 6-digit code in the authentication app and enter it.
💡 Tip: Authentication apps such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc. can be used.
⚠️ On authentication failureAccess is blocked with the message "Authentication failed."
Permissions and Restrictions
Depending on the policies set by the administrator, the use of the following features may be restricted.
Keyboard Input
- allow: Normal typing possible
- Block: "Input is prohibited by policy" message display
Site Navigation
- allow: Move freely to all sites
- Block: Can only move to the designated site
- When accessing a blocked site → "This action is prohibited by policy" page displayed
File Management
File Upload
- Only allowed file formats can be uploaded.
- Select Save Location:
- My PC file folder: Use Local PC Files
- SHIELDGate File Cabinet: Cloud Storage Usage
File Download
- Only allowed file formats can be downloaded
- Select Save Location:
- My PC: Save directly to PC
- SHIELDGate File Cabinet: Save to Cloud
- SHIELDViewer: Preview with a secure viewer and selective download
⚠️ When using SHIELDrive storage: It must be allocated to the corresponding storage to be available.
Clipboard (Copy/Paste)
Directional Control:
- Isolation Browser → PC: Copy browser content to PC
- PC → Isolated Browser: Paste PC content into the browser
⚠️ Limit time: "Clipboard usage is prohibited by policy" message display
Additional Security Features
Screen Lock
If you do not work for a certain period of time, the session will automatically expire.
Screen marking (watermark)
A watermark containing user information will be displayed on the screen.
**Purpose:**User tracking possible during screen capture
Video Conference Mode
In the business system for video conferencing, a special mode is applied.

Top Toolbar Features
View and Copy URL
When you access the business system, you can check and copy the URL of the currently connected site from the top toolbar.
Displayed Information:
- Current Access URL: The address of the webpage you are currently viewing
- Copy Button: Copy URL to clipboard
Usage:
- Check the current URL in the top toolbar
- Copy the URL to the clipboard by clicking the copy button.
- You can paste the copied URL elsewhere.
💡 Reference: The URL display feature may not be visible depending on the administrator settings.
Hide/Show Top Bar
This is a feature that allows you to hide or expand the top toolbar to improve work concentration.
Usage:
- Hide Top Bar
- on the right side of the top toolbarHide IconClick
- The top bar slides up and is hidden.
- Web content is displayed expanded to full screen.
- Expand Top Bar
- in a hidden stateMouse hover over the top area of the screen
- Top bar appears temporarily
- Expand IconClicking will fix the top bar.
- Hidden again when the mouse is removed (if not clicked)
Custom Button
If set by the administrator, in the top toolbarCustom ButtonThis may be displayed.
Usage:
- Click the corresponding button on the top toolbar
- Open linked page in a new window or tab
- Perform necessary tasks
Browser Context Menu
After accessing the business system (app / URL), at the top of the pageRight-click mouseIf you do this, a context menu will be displayed. It provides similar functionality to the right-click menu of a typical browser, andThe visibility of each menu item depends on the context menu control policy set by the administrator.

💡 Display Control According to Administrator Policy: Some of the menu items may be hidden from the context menu due to security policies. If there are items that are not visible, it means that the administrator has disabled that functionality.
Using the translation feature
User selects the target language for translationYou can do it. Previously, it was fixed to the browser's language settings, but it has been improved to allow you to freely select your desired language from the right-click menu.
Usage:
- In the background area of the business system pageRight-click mouse
- in the context menuTranslationHover over the item → Expand the submenu on the right
- Select desired language → Execute translation of the current page in the selected language
Supported Languages (5)
- Korean
- English
- Japanese
- Chinese (Simplified)
- Chinese (Traditional)
A check mark (✓) appears next to the selected language in the current session. The initial default value is automatically set to the browser's language settings.
Language Selection Retention Scope
- The selected translation target language isKeep only in the current tabIt works.
- When you open a new tab or move to another tabThe browser language settings will be reset to default. (Same as the translation behavior of a standard browser)
- In other words, you can individually select the translation language for each tab, and the selection in one tab does not affect the other tabs.
⚠️ If the translation menu is not visible: The administrator in the context menu control policy

Problem Solving
Connection Issues
When Unable to Connect
- Check IP address, time, device settings
- Inquiry about access environment to the administrator
MFA authentication failed
- Check the time limit for the authentication code (Email: 5 minutes)
- Network Connection Status Check
- Contact the administrator in case of persistent issues.
Function Usage Issue
When the top bar disappears and cannot be found
- Hover your mouse over the top of the screen.
- Click the expand icon when the top bar appears temporarily.
- The top bar is fixed and remains visible.
When the URL is not visible
- Check if the top bar is hidden (hover the mouse over the top of the screen)
- The administrator may have disabled the URL viewing feature.
- Request feature activation from the administrator if necessary
When file upload/download fails
- Check if the file extension is an allowed format
- Check Storage Allocation
- Network Connection Status Check
When Clipboard Cannot Be Used
- Check if the direction is allowed in the policy
- Request permission from the administrator if necessary
When some items in the right-click menu are not visible
- The administrator may have disabled the item in the context menu control policy.
- Translation, view page source, and open developer tools may be blocked by security policies.
- Request the administrator to enable this feature if necessary.
